Fund Manager

Rob and Gary are co-heads of this experienced and well-resourced team. Rob and Gary have worked together for more than 20 years and the majority of their team have worked together for over a decade.

The key to our process is our team, who have stayed together through three different businesses - some of us have never worked with anyone else! - and the average tenure is longer than the average marriage.

Gary Potter - Fund Manager

The Investment Process

This team has delivered the majority of its returns from fund selection rather than asset allocation. Meeting managers is central to their process, and they have developed a unique skill in finding specialist funds from boutique managers with a focus on sustainable high yield.

Holding around 30 funds, the team use diversification as a key tool in reducing risk. They don’t take extreme bets and do a lot of work analysing correlations between the funds in which they want to invest.

Our Opinion

Rob and Gary lead one of the most experienced and best established multi-manager teams in the city. This fund has consistently delivered a high income with capital appreciation. The managers’ ability to find less well known funds and then blend them together makes this a very interesting fund for income seekers.
