Schroder MM Diversity

Elite Rated by FundCalibre

This multi-asset fund, which is more cautiously positioned than Elite Rated Schroder MM Diversity Tactical, is run by the same highly experienced duo. Schroders’ strategy team and sector specialist fund managers also provide support. The managers are prepared to be contrarian and will take relatively large tactical bets.

Company Description

Founded in London in 1804, today Schroders operates in more than 25 countries, employing more than 3,500 people, close to the markets in which they invest. With more than 35 offices worldwide, Schroders is listed on the London Stock Exchange and invests in a range of asset classes including equity, fixed income, multi-asset and alternatives. The group was awarded the Elite Equities Provider Rating in 2017.

Fund Manager

Marcus Brookes and Robin McDonald have a long history of working together. They have developed a solid, comprehensive and proven investment process and share more than 30 years of investment experience between them.

Factsheet_brookes

Warren Buffett famously said ‘you only find out who is swimming naked when the tide goes out’. We always wear our trunks.

Marcus Brookes - Fund Manager

The Investment Process

The fund aims to achieve long-term growth over inflation and has a neutral position of one third in each of equities, fixed interest/cash and alternatives (property, hedge funds, commodities).

Risk

The managers can make significant moves away from their neutral positions, often increasing cash weightings when they can find little value.

Our Opinion

We like the managers’ contrarian thinking. Of their two funds that we rate, this is the more cautious, but it is flexible enough to allow Marcus and Robin to make tactical bets and change the asset allocation to suit the evolving market environment.
