Liontrust Asset Management was founded in London in 1995 and prides itself on the freedom it allows its managers, who invest in their own portfolios. Listed on the Stock Exchange since 1999, company culture is at the forefront of their values. They were awarded the Elite Provider rating.
Liontrust went through a period of difficulty following the global financial crisis, when two of its star managers resigned to set up their own company in 2009. They were the first resignations for the company in 15 years. However, under the leadership of John Ions, the chief executive who joined in 2010, the group has seen a reversal of fortunes and, in 2014, re-entered the FTSE 100 index for the first time since 2008. Performance on their UK equity franchise has been strong and they have once again started to attract significant amounts of money from investors.
