Threadneedle UK loses Elite Rating as managers to depart for Investec Asset Management
It is with regret that we have withdrawn the Elite Rating from the Threadneedle UK fund.
Manager Simon Brazier, his co-manager Blake Hutchins and three support analysts have all announced that they are leaving Threadneedle to join Investec Asset Management, in November.
Simon, Blake and the three analysts will work alongside Alistair Mundy, manager of the Elite Rated Investec Cautious Managed and Investec UK Special Situations funds. Simon will run UK equity funds consistent with his current strategy. The group will also launch a UK equity fund, which will be managed by Blake.
Juliet Schooling Latter, director of FundCalibre comments: “This is a real coup for Investec and will strengthen their UK equity team, but a blow to Threadneedle. Leigh Harrison, manager of the Elite Rated Threadneedle UK Equity Income fund has assumed immediate responsibility for the Threadneedle UK equity team, so they are in good hands, but obviously depleted in number.
“Chris Kinder, who manages the Threadneedle UK Extended Alpha fund, has already been appointed as the new manager of the Threadneedle UK fund, but, as the remit is quite different, the fund and manager no longer pass our AlphaQuest test and we have had no choice but to remove the Elite Rating from this fund.”
