Top-selling funds and sectors among ISA investors during January 2016
Although turbulent times can deter all but the most seasoned of investors, they can also bring opportunities for the more intrepid. Here's where clients at our sister company, Chelsea Financial Services, have been investing so far this year.
Top-selling sectors among ISA investors during the month of January 2016:
The table above shows a significant investor preference for UK funds, with UK equity income top of the pile. Only one bond sector features in Chelsea Financial Services’ top 10, which is likely down to the continually low interest rates, while the non-existence of Asia Pacific or emerging markets in the top 10 reflects investor concerns over volatility, commodities and debt.
Top-selling funds among ISA investors during the month of January 2016:
As for during 2015, the Elite Rated CF Woodford Equity Income fund was by far the most popular fund among ISA investors during January 2016. Nine Elite Rated funds were represented, and the top 10 consisted of 5 UK funds investing in small/mid-caps. UK funds companies are significantly cheaper than a year ago, and investors seem to have identified many as great value.
The biggest shift from 2015 was a substantial investor focus towards UK equity funds, the number of top 10 UK equity funds increasing from one to five.
