Stuck for ideas?

FundCalibre’s Clive Hale has five tips for you:

  1. Use our find a fund search to help you choose an investment fund from the thousands of options available in the UK. All our funds are Elite Rated by our research team.
  2. Read our ideas and insights for some inspiration.
  3. If you are worried about investing in a single asset class, consider an Elite Rated multi-asset or an Elite Rated absolute return fund. These can help diversify your investments and reduce volatility.
  4. If you really can’t decide, and don’t want to make a rash or hurried choice, you can always put your money into a cash ISA and switch to an investment fund at a later date.
  5. If you have cash or investments, there is really no reason NOT to have them in an ISA wrapper, so even if you don’t have any extra money to hand right now, make sure you put as many existing savings into an ISA wrapper as you can.
The views of the author and any people interviewed are their own and do not constitute financial advice. However the knowledge that professional analysts have analysed a fund or trust in depth before assigning them a rating can be a valuable additional filter for anyone looking to make their own decisions. Before you make any investment decision make sure you’re comfortable and fully understand the risks. If you invest in fund or trust make sure you know what specific risks they’re exposed to. Past performance is not a reliable guide to future returns. Remember all investments can fall in value as well as rise, so you could make a loss.
